This photo is of the iconic Prayer Tower at the center of the Oral Roberts University campus in Tulsa. My brother John and I both attended O R U, and in 1969 we were part of the World Action traveling team “The Collegians.” We were able to minister to people individually allowing the life of the Lord Jesus to be manifest to those who desperately needed God. We represented the compassion, love, and healing power of the Lord and a spark of hope. One man said, “I don’t know what it is. You have something that I need.”
And we were able to lead him and others to salvation. We will have to wait until Eternity to learn the results of these interactions that brought the people new life and joy, and it brought me feelings of fulfillment, satisfaction, and a desire to keep ministering to others all my life. After the tour I knew I was called to the global media mission field as a pioneer in Christian television ministry. How thankful I am that God used us as students to touch lives one-on-one and that He imparted this calling in my life. My love for the Lord and serving Him as His minister has never changed. Praise God!
