Home Fellowship Groups

Call them what you want “Cell groups” or “Small Groups”, I believe in the concept of home fellowship groups. I currently attend one weekly, and Kathy and I hosted such a group for nearly ten years in Denver. These usually are weekly get togethers mainly in homes where believers and anyone they invite can come to get to know one another, share, care, have fellowship, and eat. In some groups they sing Christian choruses. Our group often had potluck dinners too but definitely at least refreshments and often a dessert or snack. We prayed for each other’s needs and concerns, supported each other as we made new friends. We still sometimes meet with one another throughout the week for lunch. Many of those folks are still lifelong friends.

Personal face-time is so important for developing and maintaining relationships. Truly caring for one another is biblical and vital. Let me know your thoughts regarding home fellowship groups.

“Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes” ~~ Acts 2:46a.

“Stay in the same house, eating and drinking what the people there give you” ~~ Luke 10:7.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together … but encouraging one another” ~~ Hebrews 10:24.
