Victory In Christ

Today is once again the day I celebrate my wife Kathy’s birthday. I feel so blessed that God loaned Kathy to me for fifty beautiful years. 

I miss her voice, her laugh, her caring for our family and friends. I treasure my fond memories of every year and so many special occasions we had — especially Joy’s and Justin’s births and our early years of married life together in Texas. Fifty years (plus the five years we dated) is more than many enjoy with their spouse. I feel so fortunate. 

Today I am thinking about what Kathy must be doing right now in the presence of our precious Savior! (Maybe running alongside Him). Heaven really is what we all look forward to — when we will be reunited with so many who have gone on to glory ahead of us.

So, Kathy, I’ll always love you. Though I miss you so much, I am so thankful for our for fifty year marriage! Happy birthday in heaven! 

My heart remains intertwined with Kathy’s because of our having been made ONE!
