Do you care more about the glory that comes from man than the glory which comes from God? Are you a people pleaser? As Christians we submit ourselves to the Lordship of Christ within us. As Christians in this world we share the message of the cross that is naturally offensive to the unbelievers. But as the Holy Spirit motivates us to share the Gospel, though we don’t sugar-coat it, we share the joy of living a life that pleases the Lord. And He gets all the glory. Remember that in the Bible the Pharisees “loved the glory that is of men more than the glory that is of God” ~~ John 12:43.

We all rebelled against God (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23) and are deserving of God’s judgment and Hell (Psalm 14:3; Romans 1:23; Matthew 10:28; Matthew 25:41). But God loved us while we were still sinners, and He chose to take on the penalty for our sins on Himself (John 3:16; Romans 5:8, John 10:30). Our only obligation is to respond to Him (Ezekiel 18:30-31), turn away from our sin (Acts 3:19; Joel 2:12-13; 2 Chronicles 7:14), and strive to walk with Him. (1 John 1:6-7; 1 Peter 2:9; Galatians 5:16). Then give Him ALL the glory for what He does in and through us.
I’m not perfect, and neither are you. We just need to receive Jesus’ forgiveness and strive to do better. We remember our frailty, and we strive to live at peace with all people as much as it depends upon us.
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen” ~~ Matthew 9-13.
