Today is the day every year that we celebrate our freedom, the personal liberties we have in America. It is called “Independence Day.” And yet we truly receive our freedoms and liberty from God, not from man. So as we celebrate, let us pray for our government and that God would enable us to return as a nation to our founding principles of righteous government.
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free” ~~ Galatians 5:1.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners.” ~~ Isaiah 61:1.
“And I will walk at liberty (in freedom); for I seek Your precepts” ~~ Psalms 119:45.
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” ~~ 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV).
