What the Bible Says About Sin

The verse “If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” in 1 John 2:12 refers to Jesus Christ as our intercessor with God the Father. He paid the price by shedding His own sinless blood as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for mankind’s sin.

“If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us”] His Word does not live in our hearts.] ~~ 1 John 1:8.

“He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world” ~~ 1 John 2:2. [Jesus has atoned for and paid the penalty for our sin].

“If My people pray to Me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land” ~~ 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV).

“Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so that your iniquity will not become your downfall” ~~ Acts 3:19.

“But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as Christ does, then we have wonderful fellowship and joy with each other, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin” ~~ 1 John 1:8 (TLB).
