Generations of Bad Advice

For the last 70 years, we’ve had four generations of bad advice:

Baby Boomers: “Express Yourself”

Gen X:                   “Improve Yourself”

Millennials:          “Pamper Yourself”

Gen Z:                    “Discover Yourself”

But to every generation, our Lord Jesus says  “Deny Yourself.” In Matt. 11:24, He instructs us to prioritize the Lord’s will and teachings over our personal desires: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

Paul wrote that we must completely surrender ourselves to Jesus Christ: “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless, I live… yet not I, but Christ lives in me” ~~ Gal. 2:20.

Jesus also taught: “Whoever is the greatest should be the servant of the others” ~~ Matt. 23:11 (CEV).

And again Jesus said: “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me” ~~ Mark 8:34.
