“The carnal mind is hostile toward the things of God and utterly incapable of submission to the Lord. It will never by itself yield to Him. It has been blinded by The, things of the world – the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. But once we become “ born of the Spirit”, we are a totally new creation — born of God. Through sincere, heartfelt repentance from sin and trusting in God’s love we received newness of life.
I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” ~~ Galatians 2:20-21 (MSG).
“This is true because if a person’s thinking is controlled by his sinful self, then he is against God. He refuses to obey God’s law. And really he is not able to obey God’s law. Those people who are ruled by their sinful selves cannot please God. But you are not ruled by your sinful selves. You are ruled by the Spirit, if that Spirit of God really lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, then he does not belong to Christ” ~~ Romans 8:7-9 (ICV).
