To be a true disciple of our Lord Jesus, we must anchor our lives in Christ. We should not let the world pigeon hole us into what the world thinks of us as individuals. How do we do this? We looked at the life of Jesus, and imitate Him in our thoughts, character, and with our will being subjected to His will and Father God’s. We can’t hold onto the world’s way of thinking: self-promotion, doing things ‘my way,’ or yielding to the lusts of the flesh. Basically, we allow life and earthly desires to be crucified in order to become like Jesus. Then we experience a radical transformation, and Christ life is seen through our lives.
The world may tell you, you are a loser and you can’t measure up. You may ‘feel’ guilt or remorse from your passed away of life. But now we are defined by what Christ says about us: “For now that you have faith in Christ you ARE all sons of God. All of you who were baptised “into” Christ have put on the family likeness of Christ” ~~ Galatians 3:26 (JBP)
“if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, with old things passing away and all things becoming new, all from God who has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and given us the ministry of reconciliation” ~~ 2 Corinthians 5:17.
“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you” ~~ Romans 12:1-2 (MSG).
