Will Simply Believing in God Save You?

If someone says and merely believes that there is a God but not Jesus Christ, the Savior, then that person has the same faith as the demons of hell. Even though it involves a measure of belief, that is not saving faith: Therefore a person can “believe” in some sense and yet not be saved. “No one who denies the Son has the Father.”

There is only one true God — only One Who paid the price to redeem people from sin by shedding His own blood. He is Jesus, the eternal Creator of everything that exists. When a believer in Christ says, “I believe in God,” he or she is talking about the eternal God, the Creator of all things, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in Jesus Christ — Father God’s Only Sinless Son.

The Bible states that genuine faith involves more than intellectual agreement; it requires faith and trust in Jesus as Lord of all, of repentance, obedience, and actions that demonstrate a commitment to that belief. As we previously stated: the Bible says that even demons believe God exists, but they will not be saved.

“Without faith it is impossible to please Him [God], for he who comes to God must believe that He is” ~~ Hebrews 11:6a.

“believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” ~~ Acts 16:31: implies that salvation means trusting in Jesus’ identity and atoning work on the cross for one’s sin, resulting in a transformed life and the promise of eternal life. It involves a belief so profound it leads to a changed heart, a life of obedience to Christ’s commands, and the acceptance of His resurrection as proof of God’s payment for sin. (AI).
