One of my favorite passages in the scriptures is Psalms 28:7-9: “Blessed be the Lord! for He has heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him. The Lord is the strength of His people; He is the saving refuge of His anointed.
O save Your people, and bless Your heritage; be their shepherd, and carry them for ever.”
How can we know for certain that Christ is trustworthy? Because we truly believe that today is the day of salvation, that we have repented from sin, and have received Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. Now Jesus Christ is our refuge and strength. Now we no longer fight against God or attempt to save ourselves through self effort. We literally give up and submit totally to Christ.
