Do You React or Respond?
To whom do you turn? What do you believe? And who do you trust when devastation, sadness, or loneliness have overwhelmed your every emotion? Do you overreact based on what you are feeling at the moment? When your enemy has seemingly encircled you and you feel there is no way out, do you feel the heat? Who or what do you turn to for relief? Where can you find deliverance?
I encourage you to turn your eyes to the Lord. He is very near, you know, even though He cannot be seen. Call upon the Name of Jesus, God’s only Son. Seek Him. Ask Him to deliver you, and He will!
Consider that David wrote in the Psalms: “Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. Consider my afflictions and my trouble, and forgive all my sins ~~ Psalms 25:16-18.
“O Keep watch over me and keep me out of trouble; Don’t let me down when I run to You. Use all Your skill to put me together; I wait to see Your finished product. God, give Your people a break from this run of bad luck ~~ Psalms 25:20-22 (THE MESSAGE)
“‘For I know the plans I have for you’—this is the Lord’s declaration—’plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by You’—this is the Lord’s declaration” ~~ Jeremiah 29:11-14a (HCSB).
“But I will sing about Your strength, my God, and I will celebrate because of Your love. You are my fortress, my place of protection in times of trouble. I will sing Your praises! You are my mighty fortress, and You love me” ~~ Psalms 59:16-17 (CEV).
