God’s plan is for us to have pure hearts, motives, and desires. There is no room in our beings for corruption, sinful intentions, compromise, lying, or deceit.
King David wrote in Psalms 51:10: “Create me a clean, heart, O God.”
In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus Christ taught “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” ~~ Matthew 5:8.
The apostle Paul instructs us to set our minds on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.
As we purify our hearts and lives become elevated to become more Christlike. We become transformed by His love and power that makes us more effective as stewards of the Gospel message. With a renewed and pure mind we can discern what is the pure, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
1 Peter 1:22 encourages us as believers to “love one another deeply, from the heart” because they have been made pure by obeying the truth.
Lord, Cleanse my heart and make it the home of Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
