A Helpful Mini-Sermon

Take Jesus’ hand and break the chains that bind.  I often hear whispers from God.  Recently we were singing in church about how Jesus has broken every chain.  Indeed He has! He has broken the chains of death, sin, and destruction. He has broken the chains of our own personal sin (pride, lust, sexual sin, power, addictions, trauma and brokenness because of others who have hurt or betrayed us).

What He showed me today was that chains were still at the feet of men and women. The chains are broken but some have a hard time stepping out of those chains. Maybe it’s because people have lived with the chains so long that they do not know how to live a life without them. Maybe they really don’t fully grasp that Jesus died and conquered death for them and their sins.  God also showed me a picture of Jesus holding out His hand to each person inviting them to take His hand as they take a step out of these broken chains. His face was one of love and forgiveness, not one of judgment.

Recognize He is crazy in love with you, and He extends the invitation to you for resurrection and redemption.  Also know this, He will not force you to accept the invitation, but if you do, you are in for the greatest ride of your life with Jesus. So, will you take Jesus’ hand today?  You won’t regret it.
