Jesus taught: “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work” ~~ John 4:34. The greatest joy in life is to do what God created and called us to do. And every chapter of our lives is unique and crucial in God’s overall plan.
Kathy and I were fortunate to be doing the ministry God called each of us to do for over 40 years of our 50-year marriage. Kathy taught in Christian schools, I served as a Christian ministry media director, and together for years we led our home fellowship group and became prayer intercessors. Now after the Lord called her Home, He called me to live out the final chapter of this great adventure called life in Christ as His “Prayer Bonding Minister” serving three separate ministries in phone ministry while also praying for the needs of my Alma Mater ORU, its faculty, and students. These are my new assignments in the Kingdom in this “senior season” or “Fourth Quarter” of my life.
And despite life’s inevitable difficulties, challenges, sorrows, and sufferings, my life has been filled with the unutterable joy of doing the Father’s will which is the greatest satisfaction of life!
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise” ~~ Proverbs 11:30.
“Supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings should be made on behalf of all men: for kings and rulers in positions of responsibility, so that our common life may be lived in peace and quiet, with a proper sense of God and of our responsibility to Him for what we do with our lives. In the sight of God our Savior this is undoubtedly the right thing to pray for; for His purpose is that all men should be saved and come to realize the truth” ~~ 1 Timothy 2:2-4 (JBPhillips)
“I delight to do Your will, my God” ~~ Psalms 40:8.
