The Prayers of My Forefathers

They call today “April Fools Day.” But God wants us to be wise. He intends for us to honor, agree with, and build upon the prayers and righteous acts of our forefathers. Of course, we are not to conjure up the dead or pray to or for them. But today I honor my parents, especially, for wisely raising me as a child to love God, to become born again, and live for Him. And I thank them for teaching me the importance of daily Bible reading and prayer (especially at bedtime) when I was young. Even today we stand in agreement with the prayers and decrees that our Christian forefathers have prayed while on earth.  I also recall the many nights that Kathy and I shared God’s promises in the Bible with our kids. We would memorize significant passages and even chapters in the book of James and other places in the Bible.  We’d sing Christian choruses together, as well. I am blessed to have had a godly heritage. And I am thankful that Kathy and I have passed it on to future generations in our family.
