First Chronicles 16 Gives Praises to God
No matter what is going on in your life and family, give God a sacrifice of praise.
“Thank God! Call Out His Name! Tell the whole world who He is and what He’s done! Sing to Him! Play songs for Him! Broadcast all His wonders. Revel in His holy Name; God-seekers, be jubilant! Study God and His strength, seek His presence day and night; Remember all the wonders and miracles He performed….Sing to God, everyone! Get out His salvation news every day! Publish His glory among the godless nations, His wonders to all races and religions. And why? Because God is great— well worth praising!” ~~ 1 Chronicles 16:8-11a; 23-24 (MSG).
The phrase “not my will, but Yours be done” that Jesus spoke that is written in Luke 22:42, is so freeing. We can trust God. His will is perfect.
His will brings peace as we release the pressure to attempt to control outcomes. So we ask God to have His Way and fulfill His ultimate plan.
No more self-reliance; we gladly accept His, not our own, will in every situation and circumstance.
And don’t forget Romans 8:28-30:
“Moreover we know that to those who love God, who are called according to His plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good. God, in His foreknowledge, chose them (US) to bear the family likeness of His Son, that He might be the eldest of a family of many brothers. He chose them long ago; when the time came He called them, He made them righteous in His sight, and then lifted them to the splendor of life as His own sons” (JB Phillips).
