Love, God’s Way

One command of our Lord Jesus is for us to love our enemies and pray for those who oppose us (Matthew 5:43–45), urging us beyond our natural affection into something higher. While loving others can often be tough to do, the Holy Spirit removes the barriers in our hearts and empowers us to love even our “enemies” with His agape — selfless, sacrificial love. As we yield to Him, He produces this love in us and enables us to reflect Christ in all we do. Therefore, we let our every action and word be done in love as representatives of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God (1 Corinthians 16:14; Colossians 3:17).
