What do you do when your prayers don’t seem to be working? For me, I keep praying, expecting, believing, and trusting.
God is not a genie in a bottle Who always gives us everything we want. But He is with us and dwells in us by His Holy Spirit. He is good — no matter what! He is all-sufficient and able, yet we don’t always receive the answers to our prayers in a timely way — or so it seems. So, why doesn’t prayer seem to work? Why doesn’t the answer come right away?
First of all, what we interpret as a firm answer of NO! may simply be a delayed answer. The Bible teaches in Luke 18:7 “He will not delay to answer you and give you what you ask for” (TPT)
In Daniel 10 we read how that God sent answer to Daniel’s prayer on the day he prayed, but the answer was delayed — hindered for three weeks as God’s angel was in spiritual warfare with the evil Prince of the Persian kingdom. Nevertheless he received his answer when God’s angel defeated that evil demon. Therefore: “… with prayer— keep on asking and you will keep on getting; keep on looking and you will keep on finding; knock and the door will be opened” ~~ Luke 11:8-9 (TLB).
Just know that God wants us to be strong and courageous, and to continue to trust Him through all of life. Never give up hope. Never quit praying. In due season the answer WILL come in accordance with God’s plan.
