Victory In Christ

The Bible says “if we say we have no, sin we lie, and are not telling the truth” ~~ 1 John 1:8-9. 

But when we recognize our sin and repent of it — asking God to forgive us of that sin, God says that He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness!

King David was “A man after God’s own heart.” Yet he lusted after a soldier’s wife. Got her pregnant, and had her husband killed in battle. Yet God forgave David; and Bathsheba born him Solomon, the next king of Judah. Both of these men are in the lineage of Jesus! 

God’s love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness is truly AMAZING! But does that give us license to sin? 

NO! As we read: “Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?” … “By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?”

Grace gives us the power to stop habitual sinning. Read also Hebrews 10:26-27 and 1 John 3:9. 

2 John 1:8: Believers are explicitly warned to “watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.”
