Most believers in Jesus understand that through His sacrifice on the cross, God has given us authority over the devil. Jesus has given us His Name and authority, but we walk in that authority only as we surrender ourselves to Him. When we fail to submit to Jesus, we give the enemy an opportunity to influence us. As we yield to the Lord, He works through us by His power and for His glory. When I pray for others, I believe God’s authority is released to bring answers, and by faith, I know He answers prayer. In Luke 10:17 the seventy-two disciples return with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your Name.”
