A friend recently told me I should wear a railroad conductor’s cap because my life now travels down many different tracks. The switches have been thrown—some by God, others by circumstance, and some by my own choices. Yet each new track has led me in a meaningful direction.
In addition to being a husband, dad, and grandpa, I serve as a media director and television producer. I enjoy building my model train layout, having an intercessory prayer ministry, writing blogs (for more than a decade), being a friend to many, and contributing to Oral Roberts University through the Alumni Association Board. I’ve also written books and, more recently, begun writing and creating songs.
While these pursuits may seem like separate tracks in a railroad yard, they all converge on the same mainline.
My desire is to help people see God’s faithfulness and recognize how He has used every season of my life to point others in the right direction. I am called to help prepare people for a successful future, to encourage them along the way, and help keep them “on track.”
That same friend reminded me of the importance of making a difference, being a positive influence, and adding value to others’ lives. That is my desire for you as well—to be a blessing, bring increase into your life, and help you thrive rather than merely survive. Can you say, “Amen?”
2 Corinthians 1:4 tells us that God “comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
My desire is simple: to glorify God and share His faithfulness with others. Amen!
