Victory In Christ

When we are born again and baptized in water, the significance is not the washing of the flesh, but the cleansing of our conscience through faith toward God. Through baptism, we receive a clear conscience and enter into fellowship with Him.

Peter compares this to Noah’s salvation through the ark. Noah obeyed God’s instructions, and when the animals and Noah’s family entered the ark, God Himself shut the door and sealed them safely inside, protecting them from judgment. In a similar way, through water baptism we are brought into God’s family and placed under His protection. Noah’s deliverance in the ark was a foreshadowing of what the Lord accomplishes in us.

As Romans 6:3–5 teaches, we are buried with Christ in His death and raised with Him to walk in newness of life. In the Name of Jesus—which reveals the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—we rise from the waters of baptism into a new life, just as Noah’s family stepped into a new world after the flood.

Baptism identifies us with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, bringing us into a living relationship with our Savior. See Acts 2:38, Acts 10:48, Acts 18:8, and Acts 19:5 tell us that we are baptized into the body of Christ.
