Our Progressive Salvation

Have you ever thought that our Salvation is not a “one and done” event? We all know that when we repent and receive Jesus, as our Savior, He redeem us, gives us a new life, and forgives us of all of our sins.  This is the saving of our spirit man.

Jesus also came to “save our souls.” The soul is very different from the spirit: its realm is our minds (or thinking), our will, our emotions, and memories.

“But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul” ~~ Hebrews 10:39.

Finally, since man is a triune being of: body, soul, and spirit, let’s praise God that He came to save us in the entirety of our being.

“…put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted Word, that is able to save your souls” ~~ James 1:21.

“…abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul” ~~ 1 Peter 2:11a.

“He restores my soul” ~~ Psalms 23:3a.

Though Jesus is most compassionate and merciful, He offers to be our Provider
