Let’s Let Our Light Shine!

The world seems to be growing darker by the day, yet as believers we continue to speak of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Lord. Many are talking about how bad things have become, but our testimony is totally different. It may be getting darker where you live, but for those who belong to Christ:
“The path of the just is as the shining light, that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day.” ~~ Proverbs 4:18
As our Heavenly Father lovingly disciplines and matures us, He is producing in us greater patience, deeper trust, steadfast endurance, and the grace to finish our race faithfully. Every trial is working something eternal within us.
“In your patience possess ye your souls.” ~~ Luke 21:19
“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls.” ~~ James 1:21
“Now the just shall live by faith… But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” ~~ Hebrews 10:38–39
God is faithfully accomplishing His purpose within us.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” ~~ Philippians 2:13
Therefore we can pray with confidence: “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me: Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever: forsake not the works of Your own hands” ~~ Psalms 138:8.
And so we rest in this unshakable promise:  “Being confident of this very thing, that He Who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” ~~ Philippians 1:6.
So let’s not get discouraged by the darkness, but let’s walk in the Light, grow in faith, patience, and obedience, and rejoice that God is completing the work He has begun.
“Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promises to them that love Him” ~~ James 1:12.
The darker the world becomes, the brighter the Lord’s light should shine through His people. Our hope is not fading — it is growing brighter every day as we draw nearer to the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
