C. S. Lewis once wrote about his response to his wife’s passing from this life: “The less I mourn her, the nearer I seem to her.”
My sorrow and grief re-surfaces and I still get emotional though it’s been over three years since Kathy’s passing. And why? Because she was the love of my life and an anchor to our family.
And today especially, we remember those who lost love ones 25 years ago on 9/11. If you have gone through such a loss, I know you understand. Our grief is because we miss their presence. But our love for those who’ve gone on before — endures.
So, please don’t mourn for or pity me. I have so much to live for. Our God is the God of the living, and He’s a good, good God!
