Are You Grieving?

Many of you know that my wife Kathy passed away in July. It’s normal to grieve a loved one’s passing. And we don’t know how that’s going to go, or how it should go, or how long grieving will last. There is no normal!

Of course I miss Kathy tremendously. But thankfully, I am doing well now. I’ll always remember and never forget our beautiful marriage of 50 years and all 55 years we were together.

Maybe you have lost someone close to you. Would you like me to ask how you’re doing whether their death has been recent or has happened years ago? If you ever want to talk, let me know.

Grief can hit even months later after the funeral, after the cards and messages, and meals have stopped. There are times when the tears still come for me and maybe for you too, maybe even years later. I just want you to know that I’m here for you. I’m listening. I care. I empathize with you.

But as I said recently, I am not going to allow a spirit of grief to devastate me. I am “looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of my faith” ~~ Hebrews 12:2.

The Bible says “He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief” ~~ Isaiah 53:4.

Jesus is the greatest empathizer. He understands what we are going through. He will never leave us nor forsake us. ~~ Hebrews 13:5b.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” ~~ Matthew 5:4).

Today we allow Jesus Christ to wrap His arms of love around us and comfort those of us who trust in Him!
