Holy Spirit Conviction

As part of God’s conviction model of love for mankind is the goal of the reformation and restoration of lives.  The Lord (while yet in heaven before Jesus’ earthly birth) did not have to pray about coming to earth to be born as a helpless baby and face the evil that mankind faces all through life.  NO… He ALWAYS and ETERNALLY through ages past planned to be our Redeemer. He planned to take on a human body, live a sinless live as a person, and then rescue mankind at Calvary… The Bible says, “But while we are yet sinners, Christ loved us all so much that Jesus died to redeem us and snatch us back out of the devil’s grasp.” (Gene’s translation — Romans 5:8-10).

No one took Jesus’ life. He laid it down as a sacrifice for our sin. And I am so grateful Jesus arose from the dead and lives eternally!

“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him.” ~~ Romans 5:9.

In actuality, eventually every person who has ever lived WILL say “JESUS IS LORD.” It is best to do that ASAP! We only get one go around in life. After that is THE JUDGMENT when all mankind will be judged GUILTY who have not made Jesus LORD in this life!

Conviction is a requirement for being a Christian. If people DON’T CARE about having Jesus in their lives, they won’t be repentant. If they continue to refuse and rebuff the Holy Spirit’s wooing, God will let them fig their own way. They will never again feel the urging to receive Jesus as Savior. They won’t become redeemed nor will they end up in Heaven. This really concerns me. Just to think that God loves people ever so much more than we as soul winners do.  God is the FRIEND OF SINNERS! We love people. But God loves people even more! And He is the One by His Holy Spirit Who DRAWS people to Himself through conviction. God does not want anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9). The gift of salvation truly is free. It is the work of the Holy Spirit, and we Believers are the beneficiaries of His sacrifice and love!

Yet the Bible also says in Hebrews 10:26-27 that “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God."

So not only is conviction important, but a continual trust in the Lord as our Redeemer, Savior, and friend.

We approach God’s Throne of Grace in prayer boldly and in faith to receive help in the time of our need. We are covered with the blood of Jesus. And we have this confidence that we are secure in Christ who dwells within.  Our sins are forgiven, and we have eternal life! Hallelujah! For the conviction of the Holy Spirit has led us to repentance and faith toward God that results in righteous living!
