Living a Life of Gratitude and Generosity

The Apostle Paul reminds us that everything we do, every word we speak, and every action we take should be done with a heart of gratitude and a desire to honor the Lord. This includes acts of generosity that are more than just giving; it’s a way of life rooted in gratitude and obedience to Christ. When we give generously, we are not only meeting tangible needs but also expressing our thankfulness to God for His abundant blessings. Our generosity becomes an act of worship, an offering of praise to the One who has given us everything.

We should examine the motivation behind our generosity. Are we giving out of obligation or from a genuine desire to honor God? Are we giving with a cheerful heart, grateful for the opportunity to participate in God’s Kingdom work?

Paul expands on this theme in 2 Corinthians 9:6b-8 that "... whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work" (ESV).

I am so grateful for the selfless giving of our donors to this ministry. Your generosity enables us to minister to people around the country who are seeking the peace that only a saving relationship with Jesus Christ can provide.

As we journey through the heat of the summer, may we remain mindful of opportunities to practice generosity. Let’s give generously and sacrificially, knowing that our acts of kindness are impacting lives and bring glory to God. And may we always remember to give thanks to God, the ultimate source of every good and perfect gift.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17 (ESV)
