Joy and Peace

There’s an old Christian chorus — “I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart” …another verse says “ I’ve got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart!”

So, what is this peace? It is an inner calm and emotional place of rest that transcends, outdoes, surpasses, excels, rises above, goes beyond and is “over the top” of any other kind of peace. It is the peace that only God can give when we abide in Him. I no longer strive or try to compete or compare myself to others. Although I’m working (my job) and keeping very busy, I have chosen to labor to enter into the rest that God promises us as believers.  Peace is one of the fruit of the Spirit that we read about in Galatians 5. Living like this gives me great joy such that I want to share it with others.

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.”

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” ~~ John 16:33.

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way” ~~ 2 Thessalonians 3:16.

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” ~~ Isaiah 26:3.

Let me know if you need prayer. I’ll be happy to pray for you to have the peace of God.
